Instagram Tips – Hashtags
Instagram is all about imagery. But with billions of images on the site and in the feed each day, the challenge is getting your pictures and videos found. The key to this is Hashtags or the # combined with a phrase (#realtor, #realtorlife, #miami, etc.). While some people use them for sarcasm, the real purpose of a hashtag is to tag or categorize your image so that others can find it easier. For example, you can either search the site by hashtag or click on any hashtag in any post and then you will see every post that’s ever used that hashtag in one feed or screen. So it makes sense to always include a few hashtags in every post you do so that it makes it easier for others to find your post and increases the likelihood it will show up in other’s feeds that are following you or have a mutual interest in what you are posting about. In this video, we will teach you about the hashtag and how to use and leverage it on Instagram. Note: The hashtag now works on multiple sites including Facebook Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, SnapChat, etc.
